This native tree is not just from the British Isles, but distributed all over Northern Europe and even to Western Asia.
It is a deciduous tree which is classified as small to medium in size, mostly below 18m. It has a very unusual bark and a bright yellow autumn colour. A great native tree to grow in the garden, it does not grow too large and responds very well to pruning.
Fruit: typical winged shaped seeds.

Uses: Very easy tree to grow, makes a very good shade tree with very neat canopy.
